Finding Hope in: Living Fearless
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)
Jesus left the world with the gift of peace, but few people have peace in their frazzled lives as they worry and fret over life itself. Relying on the world leaves us dry every time as we find ourselves thirsting for more water. Choosing to receive Christ more than worldly things will fulfill the gap that lies within us. We must trust that Jesus is our ultimate water source, providing all that we need for each day. As we drink in the goodness of Christ, we are fulfilled, and our thirst is quenched. Inner peace can only be obtained by drowning out the world with our own fresh water source that is Jesus Christ. Like a river overflowing, so is the peace of Christ given to us freely by our Savior. The peace is already made available to us; we only need to receive it in much gratitude.
I have not designed you to be a dried-up river offering nothing to the world. I have supplied you with all you need to prosper and succeed, if only you will thirst for Me and not your daily dose of the world. Seek Me first each morning so that you will be less attuned to listen to the world and all its false messages that distract you and steal your peace. Problems will arise, but you must have faith that I have supplied you with the strength to deal with worldly issues in a peaceful manner, free of fear. Stress is a manipulative tactic used by the enemy to cause you to wander in the valley. Do not fall captive to the lies of the enemy; I have already secured for you a place laden with your choice food for all that receive it openly. Come to Me for rest, and I will give it to you.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
Prayer for the Day
Father in Heaven, thank You for giving me a sound mind. I know that with Christ in my life, I have the power to overcome all fear, and with You by my side, I can conquer all my foes. Please strengthen me as I prepare for battling the enemy in the world, and help me to overcome fear with peace and love. Thank You for Your great love for me and for defeating the enemy. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
