The Test of Time

God’s timing is not like the earthly timing we are accustomed to. We focus on the earthly realm of which we are required to fit our busy schedules. We become lost in the mix of everyday wants and needs. Far too often we fall prey to greed and we want things now and we want it our way.

Unfortunately, our way is not what is always best for us. If we had it our way we would all be rich, living in mansions, and going to five star restaurants, but then what kind of person would we be if we had everything handed to us on a silver platter? We would be worse off than when we started.

Perhaps, it would mean more if we earned our way to the top. When we are not getting our way, and have not received what we so desperately have prayed for recall that God is having his way with us so that we can not only have our way, but enjoy it. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

We must remember that God’s ways are not our ways and that there is a season for everything. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 If you are in a season of drought, it is crucial we believe and keep our faith, so that we pass the test and prove through our actions that we are ready for more. Faith without actions is dead.

“Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” – James 2:21-24

God is not consumed with time; rather, He is consumed with our hearts. God’s ways are not our ways but we can rest assure that His ways are best, so we do not overwhelm ourselves with everyday worries. Each day, instead of wondering where God is, we should determine if it is our will we are seeking or His. If we truly believe in God’s promises, we will do our best to be patient with Him as He is with us.

Consume your days with giving and serving God then your thoughts and your whole being will gravitated toward God’s destiny. Don’t give in to the temptation of the enemy to detract you from your destiny! Anything that does not line up with God’s word is a scheme to get you off God’s chosen path for you. Don’t veer off to the side, but keep pressing on in victory and you are sure to reap a harvest! The enemy cannot stand that we are pressing on is spite of trouble because this means his plan of defeat for us is not working, and yes, we are instead believing God! Isn’t that what God wants us to do? Believe that we have what we ask for in prayer. Off course, we must use common sense. If we are asking with a wrong motive or evil intentions, does that really honor God? On the contrary, if there is something on your heart, and you feel a nudge to ask-than ask away because this just may be part of your destiny if you so choose to pass the test of time.

Make the best of your time, and do not waste it, for we do not know how much time we have. Know that in everything God works for our good, so we can rest assure that even in our sadness, our struggles, and our headaches, if we do not give up, there is a season of laughter, of joy and peace that we have been promised. Ultimately, your season of success in the name of God will inspire others as you work to advance God’s Kingdom. At the end of our time on earth, this makes everything, including our time, worth the wait.

My child, My chosen possession, take special note of each fleeting moment as if it were your last, for you do not know when you will pass from this life. Your perception of time is precisely that: a perception. Time is opportunity for you to draw near to Me, although most often you do not see this way. You see the short range, and I see the long range. Each day, you are bombarded with endless tasks, and what you make of these tasks will determine your path. Child, choose Me in your daily walk, and you will never be led astray, although the enemy will often try to tell you otherwise. Rebuke him and repent each day to carry on with your destiny. Do not let the worries of the world destroy My great plan for you. I love you, child. Come to Me each day, and give your time to Me.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8–9)

Prayer for the Day

Dear Father, thank You for allowing me time to come to know you. Thank You for being patient with me. Although I often falter, You lift me up, giving me opportunity for change. Please help me to make the best of my time and not to waste it doing senseless things. Please help me to understand the significance of each day and to value and number my days. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
