Finding Hope in: God’s Sufficiency
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you. My whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1)
God is sufficient for you and me in a world torn in two. We may long for worldly relationship or material items, but these things will never give us the fulfillment that comes from a relationship with Jesus. Contemplate and focus on God, and your concerns for the world will fade into the distant land. The more your focus becomes on God and His good works, the less you care about the world’s discrepancies as God fills in the gaps. Joy comes from the Lord, and any happiness that comes absent from Him is temporary.
My love for you is sufficient in all thy ways. Think not of what ails you but of the hope found with the call of My name. Seeking relationship with Me will warrant you much success in life, for I have come so that you may have everlasting life and share My story with others through your own. Capture each moment in time in light of My glory, and the sun shall burst forth with rays of bright light in your life. The rain will surely come, but with the call of My name, the sun will always find its place. Remember, My child, we live in a sinful world, but My good works have overcome the fall, and I will provide you with the strength to overcome the deepest flood in the world. Trust in Me always, for My great love for you is sufficient for your heart and soul and every need that ever sufficed. I love you—stand firm in your faith.
I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me. (Psalm 17:6–9)
Prayer for the Day
Dear Father, please help me to see that Your love is sufficient for my every need. Help me to stop putting my trust in false ideologies and to instead put all my trust into You. Help me to long for You and to experience the magnitude of Your love for me. I pray to reap joy, peace, and love and extend these to others. I long for the day we meet again, and I praise You for being all that I need. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
